Bob Raehn (ran)
Bob represents the fourth generation of the Raehn family who grew up in Orlando, Florida. Before venturing into the real estate business over 32 years ago, Bob was the youngest “better menswear buyer” for Ivey’s 10 Florida stores. He moved to Hilton Head Island 30 years ago to take a position with Sea Pines. Thus began a successful career representing many of the Lowcountry’s real estate leaders such as Melrose, Bloody Point, Indigo Run, Belfair, Berkeley Hall, and, most recently, Hampton Hall.
At the end of 2008, some of Bob’s long-time friends and clients sought his counsel on options to avoid possible foreclosure in the declining economy. Bob saw the need for an expert in this area and attended The Distressed Property Institute and obtained certification as a Distressed Property Expert. In addition to his traditional real estate practice at Gateway, Bob continues to appreciate the opportunity to counsel and help clients, realtors and bankers during these tough economic times. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoys the area’s superb hunting, fishing and golfing opportunities.
Not only did Bob fall in love with the Lowcountry, but he also found and married the woman of his dreams…Duchess.
Bob is proud to say that Duchess is just as locally well-known as he is! A delightful and talented pianist, she has played professionally in many different venues throughout the Southeast. She is the Associate Teaching Director for Hilton Head Island’s Community Bible Study day class and has released two CD’s.

Duchess and Bob are the proud parents of four sons, Chance, Jacob, Matthew and Luke, and they are Bob’s preferred outdoor adventure companions. Bob and Duchess enjoy travelling and attending the college and sporting events that their sons are involved with.
